Senate Vote Details:
Wednesday, February 1st at 6:00p.m., the Washington State Senate will be voting on the marriage equality legislation at the Capitol building in Olympia. The public will be allowed to view the debate and discussion from the Senate Gallery. Seats will be first come first serve, therefore, Washington United for Marriage supporters are encouraged arrive early in order to secure a seat. We recommend arriving at no later than 4:00p.m.
When you arrive, head to the Capitol building and look for a Washington United for Marriage staff person or volunteer standing in the rotunda (near the state seal). We will be wearing grey shirts and passing out stickers and updated information on the schedule.
If you intend to attend in person, there are a few guidelines we ask that you follow:
- Be visible as a supporter but be respectful (you will not be allowed to clap or make noise)
- Do not engage with our opposition
- Do not disrupt the proceedings, there is no clapping, cheering, or any noise making allowed in the Senate Chambers.
Thank you for actively supporting civil marriage in 2012!
