event for Washington United for Marriage
Mr. Takei joined King County Executive Dow Constantine and King County Councilmember
Joe McDermott at the home of Peter Amstein in downtown Seattle to support marriage
equality. Mr. Takei delivered a passionate speech focusing on equality, highlighting
his own interment during WWII. George Takei punctuated his speech with levity that is
Mr. Takei’s trademark.
